Many people tend to associate the month of March with shamrocks, green beer, and St. Patrick’s Day festivities. However, there is another great reason to look forward to March: American Chocolate Week. This year, American Chocolate Week takes place March 19 – 25, and the Great Lakes Bay Region has you covered with opportunities to take part in this nation-wide event.

Bay City has no shortage of homemade goodies that will fulfill your cravings. The Sweet Boutique on Washington Avenue specializes in a variety of handmade chocolate goodies, while St. Laurent Brothers on Water Street offers chocolate-covered anything, from candies, to nuts, to potato chips, and pretzels.

Nestled between the shops at the Frankenmuth River Place, the Sugar High Bakery specializes in designer cakes, gourmet cupcakes, and handmade Italian gelato. Along with all these desserts available in chocolate, Sugar High also offers a wide range of sweets and cookies.
