What’s in Season?

By Registered Dietitian Rachel Trumble

Stay minty, stay fresh! Mint leaves are full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents and menthol to aid in indigestion or relief from the common cold. Adding mint is a great way to add flavor to a food dish or beverage without adding any calories. Add raw or at the end of cooking a dish to help enhance the delicate flavor and texture of mint leaves. For a refreshing treat, add mint leaves and cucumbers to your water, add to hot water to make a mentholated tea or add to your favorite fruit salsa.
