Great Lakes Bay Magazine checked in with local health care providers about the adjustments they’ve made to keep employees and clients safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Temperature recordings, health/COVID questionnaires and mask wear are mandatory. Our team changes into uniform/scrubs on-site, which are laundered each day at our facility. The parking lot is our new “waiting room,” and we limit people in our facilities by encouraging just the patient (and most scenarios not the parent) to enter. Higher aerosol-producing procedures are done in isolated treatment rooms with additional PPE (face shield, N95 mask, hair net, washable gown, etc.) and special suctioning devices.

We’re closely following CDC guidelines for sanitization, social distancing and requiring staff to wear masks. Our biggest change we’ve made has been switching to curbside pickup. Although we’re allowed to resume in-store operations, the health and safety of our employees and customers is and will always be our top priority, which is why we’re sticking to curbside for the time being. As we move forward, we will continue to evaluate our procedures to ensure that we are providing a safe environment for our clientele, our staff and our community.
