What did you want to be when you grew up? How does this compare to what you are doing now? I wanted to be everything from a teacher, to a chemist, to a pilot and finally an accountant. I received by bachelor’s in accounting information systems management. I use some accounting in the balancing and budgeting portions of my position today. What are some of your day-to-day duties in your role? In my current role as an ATM and card services analyst, every day is different – and that is what I love so much about it. I manage projects from planning to implementation. Some example of the projects I have worked on are new ATM sites. ATM upgrades, implementing mobile wallets and EMV card processing. I do a lot of problem0solving and analytical thinking, I also manage security for DCECU ATMs. I work on contract agreements, regulations and budgets – and everything in between that has to do with cards and ATMS. What would you say are the most important attributes to successfully handling your job? I would say the three most important attributes would be being strategic, focused and analytical. What do you love most about your job? My favorite part about my job is that every day is different. What are your career goals within your job? To continue to advance in my role and expand my areas of expertise within the credit union. What makes working for your company special? DCECU really cares about their employees and encourages professional growth. As an added bonus, our members are wonderful to work with.
