The arrival of the new coronavirus to Michigan has certainly been the talk of the town. With this virus and countless others, the Center for Disease Control recommends frequent washing of hands and using hand sanitizer when hand washing is not an option.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are dry cough, fever, fatigue and shortness of breath.
Some patients may have aches and pains, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
About 80% recover from the disease without needing special treatment
Around 1 of every 6 people infected with COVID-19 become seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing.
The elderly, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes are more likely to develop serious illness.
