There is nothing better than the distinct aroma of fresh basil. In many cultures, this “holy herb” is highly prized for its health-benefiting phytonutrients. The beautiful deep-green color of basil offers a dose of blood-clotting vitamin K, some vitamin A and magnesium. Basil pairs well with some delicious fresh vegetables with a touch of oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice. It’s the perfect flavored topping for fresh fish or in your favorite homemade soup. Basil is just so simply delicious!
